Tom Thumb Trip – 1/27

A few weeks ago, I picked up some coupon booklets at Tom Thumb. One side reads “Make it Tonight – Italian” and the other side reads “Make it Tonight – Mexican”. Inside are several Tom Thumb/Safeway-specific store coupons for various items.

A member of the DFW CouponCuties Yahoogroup posted a deal this afternoon at Tom Thumb that uses coupons from this booklet. I did not realize you could combine Tom Thumb store coupons with manufacturer coupons, so I learned something new today! Even though people on DFW CouponCuties are stating it is possible to use multiple store coupons, the coupons state one coupon per customer, so I went to two Tom Thumb stores. The first store was completely sold out of 2% cheese. The second store had a few left.

Here’s what I got:

Kraft 2% Shredded Cheese Paid: $0.24 (used the $0.75 blinkie coupon found in store and the $1.00 off coupon from the Make it Tonight booklet).

Four Rosarita Refried BeansPaid: $1.50 for four cans (used two $0.50/2 coupon from 1/18 SS and the $1.00/4 coupon from the Make it Tonight booklet). Note – only one of the two $0.50/2 coupons doubled, since Tom Thumb only will double/triple one like coupon.

Fresh Express salad Paid: $0.00 (used $1.00 coupon from Make It Tonight booklet)

Paid: $1.74
Saved: $12.24 (88% savings)

I saw lots of booklets left at Customer Service on my way out of the first store I visited. So if you don’t see them on a display in the store (I found mine at the end of the pet food aisle — not where you’d expect to see it!), check with Customer Service.

This deal might end Tuesday tonight with the new ad coming out tomorrow.
