My Tom Thumb Trip – 4/28

I had a Chill Out at Home $10 catalina (coupon) that expired on April 28, so I quickly pulled together a $30 scenario to take advantage of the Living Well catalina promotion (buy $30 worth of qualifying products, get a $10 catalina for your next purchase) and ran to Tom Thumb last night. I did two transactions.

First Transaction: Electrasol

I purchased eight boxes of Electrasol at $3.99 each and used eight $2.50/1 Electrasol coupons from the 4/19 SS insert. After coupons, the price was $12.90 and I received a $10 catalina coupon to use on my next purchase.

I then did transaction #2 at a second Tom Thumb to use the catalinas:

Sun Chips – $0.99
Price: $3.00
Coupons: $1.01/1 Living Well Ad Coupon (if you didn’t get it in the newspaper, you can find it at the front of the store. The coupon actually reads ‘$1.99 with card and coupon’) AND $1.00/1 Sun Chips coupon from April All You Magazine.

Planters Cashews – $3.99

Goodlife Cat Food (2) – $1.49 each
Price: $4.49
Coupon: Two $3.00/1 printable coupons (you can also use the $2.00/1 coupon – 3/8 RP)

Bright Green Facial Tissue (1) – $0.49
Price: $1.49
Coupon: $1.00/1 – Living Well In-Ad store coupon

Newman’s Own Pizzas (2) – $3.99 each
Price: $4.99 each
Coupon: Two $1.00/1 printable coupons

Eat Right Spaghetti – $2.00
Price: $2.00

Trop50 Orange Juice (1) – $2.50
Price: $2.50
Coupon: $1.00/1 – 3/15 RP

Reynolds Wrap Recycled – $1.29 (will be free after rebate that I mentioned here – no longer available)
Price: $2.29
Coupon: $1.00/1 – Reynolds Booklet that I got at Kroger several months ago. You can also print a $0.50/1 coupon here. I think the printable only works if you didn’t get the rebate on Earth Day. I will submit my receipt and rebate to get the Reynolds Wrap for free.

Skim Milk (1) – $1.99

Nature’s Own Wheat Bread (1) – $2.00

Everything except the Reynolds Wrap, milk and bread are part of the Living Well promotion.

I used the $10 catalina from the Chill Out at Home promo, plus the $10 catalina from the Living Well promo (from the Electrasol purchase), plus a $1.50 catalina from purchasing Starbucks coffee. I also planned to use a free Planter’s snack product coupon (up to $5.00), but the cashier was very confused about printable coupons, frees, etc. and the line was backing up, so I paid $3.75 out of pocket, saved $50.88 (93% savings!) and received a $10 catalina from the Living Well promotion to use on my next transaction. With the Reynolds Wrap rebate, my entire second transaction will almost be free.

I’ll use the Planter’s free coupon on my next Tom Thumb Living Well promotion purchase.

Newman’s Own pizza is great. We love it. Thanks for posting the link to the coupons.

Not everyone knows that all of Newman’s Own’s profits go to charities, so you get good, healthy products and, on top of that, you get to help others.

Paul Newman was a great philanthropist.
