OfficeMax Instant Win Game on Facebook

OfficeMax Elfmas Instant Win Game

I just entered the OfficeMax Instant Win game on Facebook, expecting to possibly win one of the pens, if I was lucky. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I won the Grand Prize – one of 92 Vivitar Grape 7.1 MP digital cameras that they are giving away!

I just read the reviews for this camera and they’re really bad. Bummer…

OfficeMax is also giving away 230 $10 OfficeMax gift cards, 2000 TUL Rollerball Pens and printable coupons for rubber band balls.

The instant win game began on 11/10 and runs until 12/24/10.

To try your luck:

Sign into Facebook
– “Like” the OfficeMax Facebook page
– Click on the Elfmas Town Tab or go here
– You will have to approve access to your data (which I don’t like doing, but did this time. I was going to remove access if I didn’t win anything).
– Click on the pile of presents (Holiday Grab Bag) to start the instant win game.
– Select a present (1, 2 or 3) and click to open.

If you win something, please let me know! Good luck!

Thanks Hip2Save for posting this.

Instant Win Games & Google Voice

I was up late on Sunday night making last minute preparations for my daughter’s birthday party on Monday and decided to play some of the instant win games listed at Sweeties’ Sweeps. I had read a while back that she has had the best luck winning in the early morning hours, and since it was 3AM, I decided to try my luck.

No big wins, but I did win fourth place in Mars Halloween Millions instant win game: a coupon for a free bag of candy. Hopefully it will come in time to purchase Halloween candy. I used the free UPC code “HALLOWEEN” to win, but you can only use it once. See Sweeties Sweeps for more details before playing.

I also played the Starkist Tuna Tear into Flavor instant win game. Even though I didn’t win, I did get to print two $0.50/1 coupons for Starkist tuna. They do not say “do not double” so they could possibly get free tuna if there’s a 10/$10 sale before they expire in September. Go to Sweeties Sweeps to see more details.

Sweeties Sweeps also introduced me to Google Voice a month or so ago. I submitted a request for an invitation and a few weeks later, I received the invitation and registered.

Google Voice allows you to create a phone number and have it forward to your regular number. This is great if you need to enter a phone number for a contest or to register for something, but do not want to submit your actual number. It’s much easier to cancel your Google Voice number than your regular number. I also like the idea of using Google Voice for my business.

One feature I particularly like is that you send and receive free text messages using your Google Voice account! I’m so excited about this because I currently have to pay for text messages. This opens all sorts of new opportunities for entering promotions and contests.

Short Break

I’m taking a short break from blogging, but will return by Monday. Today was the last day of school for my preschooler. I can’t believe she’s off to kindergarten next year. But instead of going to school today, we headed to Shreveport for the annual Jambalaya Jubilee juvenile arthritis camp and conference. A news crew filmed me at one point, so if you live in Shreveport and saw the news, you may have seen me. 🙂

Between the end of school festival and class party, work and getting ready for this weekend trip, I have neglected my blog. I have also scaled way back on shopping because of my stockpile of food. I have only needed fresh produce, milk, bread and occasionally meat, but the pantry is starting to become empty so I’ll be back out looking for grocery deals soon.

I mentioned a while back that I am working on something that will make coupon organization and usage a little easier. I am still working on that. Hopefully a portion of it will be available this summer!

Instant Win Games

If you’ve read this far, then I want to share two instant win games I won this week. 2-4AM is a good time to try your luck at instant win games, so since I’ve been up already trying to get some work done, I’ve played a few games. Here are the two I won:

Honey Nut Cheerios Sweet Rewards Giveaway – you could win a cash prize every 10 minutes! I won $5 on my first try. Use code: k30fr h4f3h 7720 unless you have a cereal code already. This is the code I used to win. I believe it’s the generic code you get if you don’t have one from a product package.

Restaurant Style Salads from Home – Dole, Fresh Gourmet, Marie’s Dressing and Athenos Cheese have gotten together to hold this instant win game. It took several attempts for me to win a free salad. Not sure it’s entirely worth it given how long it took, but worth a few tries if you like salad.

Instant Win Game – Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs Movie Tickets

I went to Tom Thumb’s Web site to see this week’s grocery ad and noticed an instant win game for two tickets to see Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I decided to play, and I won! The game runs from 5/26 – 6/30/2009, and you’ll be entered to win a grand prize trip to Denver, Colorado.

You can play on any of the Safeway sites (it should be the first graphic on the homepage, but it rotates with other promos so click quickly!):

According to the rules, there are three games you can play to try to win. I won on the first game (find acorns under snow), so I’m not sure what the others are. They’re giving away 1000 pairs of tickets, which are redeemable at a participating Fandango theater. You must live in one of these states to play: AK, AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, HI, ID, IL, MD, MT, NE, NJ, NM, NV, OR, PA, SD, TX, VA, WA, WY, VA.

Read the Official Rules.

Good luck!

Oh – because I got distracted with the game, I’ll do the coupon match-ups on Wednesday. A quick glance at the ad didn’t reveal any spectacular deals unless you want meat. Looks like there are several options for $1.00/lb.

Kraft Instant Win Game – $15 worth of coupons for free food

Got this one from Common Sense with Money. Participate in the Kraft Instant Win Game and possibly win $15 worth of free Kraft food. I won on my second try. You can play up to four times per day and there will be 43,000 winners, so give it a try!

Note: This ended in January 2009
